Vehicles with one or more wheels with a single seat and powered exclusively by electric motors, such as scooters and Segways, whose maximum speed ranges between 6 and 25 km / h, are regulated . Vehicles for people with reduced mobility such as wheelchairs are excluded here.



A provisional instruction was launched in which Traffic warned of the importance of the technical characteristics of the device, its power and maximum speed, mentioned above. If scooters with higher performance than a personal mobility vehicle (VPM) that does not comply with the requirements of Regulation (EU) No. 168/2013 are used, these vehicles will not be able to circulate on regulated roads and drivers will be penalized with 500 euros of fine, in addition to the immobilization and deposit of the transport. The manipulation of VPM is also included, altering the technical characteristics or speed.
